It's a rainy spring morning here . . . again, but they PROMISE sunshine and 80's by this weekend! YIPPEE! This card was created with two challenges in mind;
1. Jen Del Muro's SFYTT (Sketch for You to Try) and
2. Paper Makeup Stamps Weekly Challenge
The Paper Makeup challenge was to use the colors Kraft, Old Olive, Cameo Coral and Summer Sun. I cheated a little and threw in some black, but I consider that a neutral :) The colors and DP I chose had a "springy" feel to it so I decided to use the butterfly image from Paper Makeup Stamps -Buggy Sayings set. I stamped, colored and cut it out but I thought it needed to be more of a focal point so I stamped it again in the same DP, cut it out and layered it on top of the first image. This way I was able to fan the wings out and give it some dimension.
The sentiment is a $1 stamp I found at Michaels. I thought it went well with this card and could easily be used for a new house or even Mothers Day. Thanks for looking!

ReplyDeleteOh my word, this is incredible! I love it!! Thanks so much for playing.
ReplyDeleteYour card is really beautiful. Love that sentiment. Also, I love all your stitching. My sewing machine broke 2 weeks ago. I'm really missing it. Cost more to fix it than I bought if for. So a new mini Janome is on the way. Can't wait to try stitching my ovals like yours. So cute. Mine will probably be wonky:)
ReplyDeleteI love the coloring on the stamp and I love the coordination of the layers!
ReplyDeleteFabulous job!!! Thanks for playing at PMS this week! I just love the intensity of the colors!
ReplyDeleteHi Randee,firstly wanted to tell you that your blog and your cards are fabulous.....you are very creative!!! Thankyou so much for the lovely comment on my blog and heres the answer to your question.I used the with love five pack of folders to do the flower border,then I used my scor pal to do a border around the card and join it to the flower border. I used the Grid Technique to fill the inside of the border,you can see the tutorial here ,the Swiss dots is actually another piece of embossed cardstock placed on with 3d foam.I hope this helps.
