Everyday Quilt

Here's another card showcasing one of the new Whipper Snapper December release cling mount sets. This card is made using Everday Quilt. I must admit, I am not a quilter. In fact, I barely even know how to turn on my sewing machine! But with these two sets, I can get the same look with rubber and ink ;0)

I tried to use bold, non traditional colors on this one and mounted them on black and then on white to make them stand out even more! The sentiment, also in the set, was set against the black ribbon so that it didn't get lost with everything else going on. I added the button and faux stitching (because as I said before, I am not a quilter and barely a seamstress) to go along with the theme of this card.

Here's a trick for you: Use little slivers of white scrap cardstock instead of thread in your buttons. It's easy to thread, you can make it whatever thickness you want, and if your like me there's PLENTY of it lying around :0)

I'm enjoying the last week of Christmas vacation preparing for the new year - out with the old, in with the new!! Cleaning out closets, drawers, taking down Christmas decorations, cleaning and purging the stamp room. However, I may have to take a break and find some stamping time too ;0)

Have a wonderful end to this year.

Whipper Snapper December Release

Happy Post Christmas Everyone!! In addition to all of the merriment that's been going on lately, it's time for another Whipper Snapper cling mount set release by Anna Wight!!

This month the two sets are Springtime Quilt and Quilting Forever.

Todays card features sweet spring images from the Springtime Quilt set. I used paper from daisyds Spring Blossoms collections to give it that warm homespun feel.

Here's a closeup of that cute little bird to show you a little more of the dimension . . . and ALL that faux stitching :0)

I'll be back with more cards using these sets later this week, but make sure to stop by all of the November/December featured designers for more awesome ideas for these two sets!

Seattle Sights

Helloooo . . . Anybody out there?!?!? Oh My!! It's been awhile, it's seems like forever since I've been crafty :0( But as stated before, family comes first and sometimes we just need to take a break . . .

Here's a little update on what's going on here;

We spent last week in Seattle. My Grandma turned 91 and for her celebration the whole family was going to be there to help her celebrate. We had planes flying in from everywhere; Boston, California, and Chicago! Unfortunately she is not in the best of health and we could only visit her for short periods at a time and she was in and out of consciousness, but she knew we were there and just being around her family perked her spirits and her condition. We asked her what she wanted to do for her big birthday and she just said - "sit here and look at my beautiful family". Grandmas are such special people . . . I love her!

So, when we weren't visiting her, we tried to keep 5 energetic kids occupied!! We did manage one day to go downtown to the Public Market.

Underneath the market down Post Alley there is a stomach churning, yet in a weird gross sort-of-way, a very cool, unique and ever changing piece of art - the Bubble Gum Wall.

No, it is not a classy place, but the gum wall is classic Seattle. It is also one of those little pieces that really make the market. Gross and probably filled with all kinds of icky sickness and bacteria, the gum wall is a site to behold... we took our picture and added our gum... life is too short to skip simple fun...

This is my youngest being assisted by Grandpa to get his to stick with his "lucky penny" he found earlier in the day.

We also got to peak around at all of the vendors - including the famous "fish throwers". Here's my middle son (the birthday boy - just turned 11 yesterday) with an interesting find :0)

And some other pretty sights...

These pepper/garlic arrangements will last up to a year!! They'll dry up but you can still pull them off as you need them!

A view of the two new sports stadiums and Mt. Rainier in the background.

Sorry I don't have anything crafty to show you. I think tomorrow I'll post some of the crafty Christmas cards I've received :0) Today is my last day of work for the rest of the year WAHOOO!!! So I'm hoping to get some crafty time in REAL soon!

Thanks for stopping by, hope your holidays are filled with family, friends and Christmas cheer!

Dylan Sneak Peak Day 2

It's the beginning of December which means it's time for another Paper Makeup Stamps release! And what a fun release it is. Many of the stamps have a wonderful nautical theme to them!!

Todays sneak peak features the new fairies being released this month. This is Dylan. I LOVE his puffy vest. I really want one just like it, same color too :0) The sentiment is also being released this month.

Today is also the start of the next Countdown to Christmas weekly special. This week PMS is offering 25% off all Holiday stamps. Check out the PMS blog for sneak peaks at all the other fairies being released on Monday as well as all the details on the Countdown to Christmas sale.

Well, I'm off to hit some craft fairs. I'm actually working at one for our school district. I'll be taking pictures of Santa with the kids :0) Hopefully I'll find some unique creative Christmas presents at the same time.!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Think Snow Trio

Happy Hump day! A quick post 'cause go figure I got work to do :0)

Here's another card I made using the Anna Wights November release for Whipper Snapper. All three images are from the Think Snow set. The picture is really crappy, but all 3 tags are spritzed with my (at the moment favorite) Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Monday, November 30, 2009

Hey there everyone. Well, it seems like forever since I've posted a card!! Although I missed getting inky, we had a nice relaxing week with family. We stayed up late playing cards and slept in until whenever! Not much cooking (I was delegated dish duty :0) and Aunt and Uncles, Grandma and Grandpa were more than happy to help occupy the boys time and every request :0) BUT - I do have to admit that it took only about 10 minutes from walking in the door last night to start getting crafty!

I used the SU! snowflake die and the Spellbinders Fancy tags and pointed circle dies to create this card. The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps. This card was created for last Fridays PMS challenge to make something Christmas/holiday related. Although this doesn't really scream holiday, the snowflake at least pulls you in that direction ;0). I used the snowflake CB embossing folder and for lots of wintery sparkle I sprayed the kraft snowflake with Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist and the Fancy Tag with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. That Marshmallow mist is perfect for holiday sparkle, I'm finding myself misting EVERYTHING with it!

If your in the mood to create something festive (or you already have) link it up on the PMS blog so we can all see it! Hope your day is full of wintery sparkle :0)

P(M)S. . . .if you're still in sale mode from this past weekend. PMS's Countdown to Christmas sale is 20% off all Moody's. Just enter Moody20 in the voucher box when your're checking out :0)

Gardening Snowman

A quick post today to show you another card I made using one of Anna Wights November release sets titled Gardening Snowman. There are so many accessories in this set, I should have made it a snow woman - we love to accessorize!! The two birds, the birdhouse, the birdseed, they are all individual stamps.

I think I got a little carried away with the sewing machine :0) But I figure if I'm gonna lug the thing out, set it all up, that I might as well make good use of it! I added some sparkle to the top of the birdhouse and along the snowline with a Sakura stardust gel pen - doesn't like to photograph well. And it's also probably hard to tell that there are three layers to that snowman!! Finally, I added a little bling on each side of the sentiment to give it a little more emphasis, it kind of gets lost with everything else going on :0)

Looking forward to the nice long holiday? Starts tomorrow for me - I took the whole next week off!! Yippee!! We're headed out to see family - should be fun. So if it seems quiet around here - that's why. If you are traveling - hope all is safe and well. Gobble, gobble!!

Winter Chill

Hey all! Did I tell you that I am a WSFD for the months of November and December?! Hee Hee I'm just soo excited I had to say it again :0). Here's another card I made with the new Think Snow set.

This little ice skating penguin is the cutest! I kept this card pretty simple and resisted traditional winter holiday colors. I have several friends who have birthdays during the winter, and thought this would be a cute winter themed birthday card! You can view these sets and all of Anna's other adorable stamps at Whipper Snapper Designs.

It's starting to get chilly around here, time to start getting the winter coats, hats, and gloves out. I enjoy the changing of the seasons, and winter for about a month. Usually around December 26th I'm ready for things to start warming up :0)

Hope you're day is warm and cozy!!

Whipper Snapper November Release!!

O.K., Let me just say that I have been (not so) patiently waiting for this day for awhile now.

But first some background . . . My first step into blogland was through a link from Anna Wight's (A.K.A Sweet Miss Daisy) Splitcoast Stampers online gallery. I absolutely fell in love with her style, sense of humor and daily musings. I instantly became an avid follower and fan. She was my stamping idol! I bought all the tools she blogged about, I CASE'd her projects and cards and I practiced the tutorials she posted. I was thrilled when she ventured into the realm of designing stamps for Whipper Snapper. Her stamp designs are just as fabulous as the cards she creates. Always so heartwarming and filled with her sense of humor - some of them just crack me up! :0)

Soooo . . . when I received an email from Anna asking ME if I'd like to be a Whipper Snapper Featured Designer I just about pee'd my pants!! No, really!! She is my stamping rockstar and to let me go "on tour" with her for these next two months is literally a dream come true - Thanks Anna!

Today is RELEASE DAY for two of Anna's new sets!! Woo- Hoo!! Here's a peak;

Aren't they the cutest?? She always has the best sayings to coordinate with her images. I'm having fun playing with these sets and will be posting cards I made through out the week. Here's my first one to show you:

I don't think I've ever seen a snowman of hers I didn't like. She has a way with ice ice baby! (sorry I couldn't resist). This chubby little guy is from the Gardening Snowman set. I used the large SU! snowflake die to cut out the image on chipboard. I then used the negative image for the card. I distressed the chipboard with Ranger distress ink and then stamped the snowflake from Think Snow. I backed the image with a page from an old book, added some faux stitching and buttons. On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment "Like a snowflake, you are one of a kind."

So, that's my first card as a Featured Designer for Whipper Snapper. I hope you like it. Both of Anna Wight's new sets are available today, over at Whipper Snapper Designs.

Wanna check out some other fabulous creations made with these sets???

Here are the links to the other Whipper Snapper Featured Designers and to Anna's blog too!
Hop on over and tell them all hi!

Caffeine Trip

Woo Hoo it's Friday!! Can't wait for the weekend - about 8 hours to go!! If you could see me now you'd see my shoulders rockin', my hips swaying and my feet doing a happy dance!!

I'll have more to share on Monday about why I am sooo looking forward to this weekend ;0)

So here's a card I made for the Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge over at PMS. It's a sketch challenge and you can check out the sketch and the other DT samples on the PMS blog.
I used the "to go" coffee image for the front of the card. It had a funky design to it so I tried going for that psychadelic color scheme?. It kinda has that Partridge Family vibe don't you think??

And here's the inside. I was trying to make it look like a to go cup with the corrugated cardboard wrap thingy. I think this sentiment is soo fun! I really wanted to put the words "Caffeine Trip" on the outside - I think that would just be too funny, but I couldn't get it to work with the image I had already created - but I'll keep it mind for another card :0)

Hope you all have a super duper weekend!

BooBoo 4 U

Although multi-tasking isn't always a good thing, when I can cover several challenges with one card I am happy :0). This card used this weeks 2S4U sketch as inspiration for the layout and the Paper Makeup Stamps release party challenge for colors and other specifics!

This "Boo Boo Monster" and sentiment are new releases over at PMS - isn't he the cutest? I created little band-aids to use as part of the design elements from the sketch layout.
The release party challenge was to use the colors, black, pink, white, a little bling, and texture.

And what's this?!
a bonus card!! I created this card for the second PMS release party challenge to CASE a card in the PMS gallery. I loved this quilted card concept from Michelle as soon as I saw it and really wanted to try the quilted technique.

I punched a bunch of the same size squares out of coordinating paper from a small Basic Grey pad I had. I glued them to my card base and ran the whole thing through my CB and labels Nestability. I used a white gel pen to draw in the stiching, but wished I would have used real stitching instead. Oh well, I still think it achieved the look I was going for.

It's been a really crazy week here. 3 day training class at work - with homework :0( Hubby out of town :0( And some extra-curricular activity every night of the week. I haven't been able to blog hop as regularly as I like and it bums me out that I may be missing some awesome creativity !! Hopefully I can catch up with you all soon :0)

We're almost to Friday - yippee!! Have a happy Thursday everyone!

Not only is he a new release in the ever popular Fairy series, but a portion of all sales from this little guy will be given to fellow blogger/stamper Sarah Anderson and her family in remembrance or their 3 yr old son Henry who sadly and unexpectedly passed away this week.

I used lots of sparkly stuff on this card. This was fun to color - I think he looks a little like a Gingerbread Boy :0)

Well if you've visited a PMS Hop before then you know a secret message is built in among all the posts. Did you get your first letter? Remember to collect them all for your secret code to get 15% off the new releases. Henry in Digi

Many of you hopping around Blog Land may have heard of the sad, sad news of how fellow stamper/blogger Sarah Anderson lost her 3 year old son on Monday. It was a sudden illness that only started last Friday. They still are unsure of what happened. It is totally tragic and heart wrenching and just really tears at me thinking of the pain, the confusion and the loss the family is going through right now. It is a mom's greatest fear. She could use all the support and prayers out there right now!

Katie (PMS owner) felt the need to do something to help out - in some small way to keep Henry's memory alive. So I Introduce you to Henry the snow angel fairy. $2.50 of the proceeds from each Henry sold will be sent to the Anderson family for them to use whatever way is best to keep Henry's memory alive for their family.

The digital version of Henry is available now at Paper Makeup Stamps . Henry in rubber stamp form will be available at 8:00 p.m. CST tomorrow night at the November Release Party. You can join in on the fun at the FORUM.

Check back tomorrow for a PMS blog hop with the opportunity to save, save, save. And check out what I came up with using Henry!

Go Green Monster

Here's another sneak at some of the new images being released on Saturday over at Paper Makeup Stamps. This is George. Isn't he fun?! I made a little gift tag for this reuseable water bottle - I thought it would be cute - I mean cool, for a bunch of scouts.

The recycle sign is also a separate stamp being released. On the flip side of this little tag I stamped the initial of the person I was giving it to.

You can see all of the other monsters and related images being released at the Paper Makeup Stamps blog - there are some cute ones for sure! And don't forget, leave a comment for the chance to win the entire release!

Have a happy GREEN day!

Everday Thanks

Hey there everyone - can you believe it, I'm posting 2 days in a row!! It's release week over at Paper Makeup Stamps which means lots of sneak peaks at new stamps AND the opportunity to WIN them. Yep, you could win the ENTIRE release just by leaving a comment each day over on the Paper Makeup Stamps blog!!

Today the sneak peaks are of a set of thank you sentiments called "Everyday Thanks". I'm showing a quote by William Shaespeare - classical, somewhat formal, but very sincere. I paired it with the thank you embossing folder by Cuttlebug. I went with one of my favorite color combos right now -brown and teal blue. Love it! It also has a very classy, formal look to it.

Head over to the blog and leave a comment. You can also view the Moody Girl peeks from yesterday, leave a comment and double your chances!! Tomorrow, I'll have yet another peek.

Winter Wonderful

Happy November!! With the turn of the clocks this weekend the last little remnants of summer faded with the sunlight. I miss summer already, but look forward to the next few months because it is all about friends, family and togetherness. It truly is a wonderful time.

I created this card using a free digi download from Verve. It was one of their image sets that didn't get turned into rubber. I thought both the mittens and the sentiment were beautiful.

I don't think there is a lot to this card that needs explaining. I did use Flock on the mitten cuffs. I haven't used that in FOREVER!! I used my favorite ribbon from SU! Gotta love Not Quite Navy!!

Short post today
, but stop by tomorrow and the rest of the week. It will be busy around here as it gets closer to the November release for Paper Makeup Stamps on the 7th!!

Have
a WONDERFUL day!

Sketch Girl 8 and Word Art Wednesday

Hey there! Happy All Hallows Eve! It's a little bittersweet for me this year for several reasons;

1. My older two are thinking it's not so much fun if Mom tags along for trick or treating. They think they can cover more ground if they leave mom and little brother in the dust!
2. I think I've finally hit the point where I know longer have any say in what their costumes will be :0(

We had a near nuclear melt down last night because my 5 yr old didn't want to wear the adorable spider hat and web costume I was going to make for him. He was - stomp your foot on the ground- for sure going to be the store bought, mass produced Star Wars Storm Trooper that he was last year. After many attempts at coersion, bribery and near tears (on my part), I gave in. I decided there are bigger battles to win and that my days of coming up with cute, coordinating, creative costumes are over. Snif Snif . . . O.K., enough wallowing in self pity . . . onto the card! . . .

It's the 30th which means another Sketch Girl Challenge is up on the blog, you can click the link on the sidebar to take a look. I twisted the sketch on it's side so that I could use the main panel with this weeks FREE word art download from Paper Makeup Stamps. I thought this would be a cute card for my 5 yr olds teacher. I used PP from DCWV First Grader paper pack, coordinates well with the quote don't ya think?

I couldn't think of anything else to do with that extra little panel to the side of the word art, so I just added a nice big pretty bow with a cute little rubber button in primary colors. I also added a little bling in each corner to focus on the word art. I wish more of the feet and alphabet would have been visible, but the card is already 5 1/2 inches and I didn't want to go any larger.

Well, hope you all have a frightfully fun weekend with lots of treats, sweets, and cooperative little goblins :0) Have Fun!

Dingle Bats!

This should be the last Halloween card, I promise! Time is running out - the witching hour is almost here! The bags of trick or treat candy have been sitting in the trunk of my car for the past 3 weeks to keep some sticky fingers out!! It can be worse than Christmas around here with everyone sneeking around trying to find the hidden stash :0) I just hope that some of it hasn't melted!!

With Halloween
almost here, the stores are trying to get rid of their remaining seasonal items by giving deep discounts. That was the case with this dingle-bat fringe! I just thought they were soo adorable and there was only about 1 yard left and the price was right. I used some non-traditional colors here, not sure if I like them together, but I wanted the bats to stand out. I'm back to my go-to layout which can only mean that the mojo isn't flowing too strong right now :0)

Hopefully it will find it's way back. Maybe if I entice it with some hidden candy :0)

Have a great hump day everyone!

Spooky Spider

Here's a quick little card I created for the PMS - Makeup for the Weekend challenge. The challenge is to use Halloween colors. It doesn't need to be a Halloween card, just the colors. But I have been in Halloween mode lately and I'm not quite done with it yet ;0)

I can't take credit for this adorable little button spider. I bought him like that!
I just needed to stick him onto my embossed spider web I created with the CB folder. The sentiment is from the PMS Halloween sentiments set. I stamped it in black and then colored in "spook" with a Copic. I added a little Sakura stardust pen over the top to give it some sparkle. Not a lot to this card, but sometimes simple is good!

It rained ALL day today, very dreary. I hope there's some sunshine in the forecast this weekend, and I hope your weekend is sunny too :0)

Better Than a Sale - Word Art Wednesday!

Happy Word Art Wednesday everyone! What better way to kick off the mid week than to give something away :0) I love bargains, and well, FREE is a pretty good bargain! Here is the card I created with todays freebie for you:

Isn't this sentiment just so simply sweet. Not too mushy and could go with both genders. So, whats the deets on how to get your inky hands on this? Just head on over to the PMS Blog and you can download it for free. No hoops to jump through, no sign-ups, just save it to your computer and that's it. OF COURSE I'd LOVE to see how you use it!! Just leave a link!

For those that have never used a digi before, I was pretty skeptical too. I will always love my rubbers :0) But for scrapbookers or those that like to play around with different colors, sizes, etc. digis are pretty sweet! I just save it to my computer as a jpeg in my picture file, then I open it up in powerpoint. It's the easiest way for me to play around with the size and copy and paste multiple images on one sheet. Then I just print it out on cardstock. Easy Peasy!

I'm hoping for good weather today. My little guy is going on his first school field trip to the pumpkin farm! He was so excited to have to bring a sack lunch and he's determined to bring home the "biggest pumpkin of all" :0)

Hope your Wednesday is easy peasy!

2S4U is Just Rite!

Happy Saturday everyone! I have been drooling over this weeks 2S4U sketch challenge all week and was determined to get this in by tonight's deadline. Why? Well first of all I LOVE Kazan's sketch. I had this idea in my head as soon as I saw the layout. And second, the challenge prize up for grabs is a $100 gift certificate to Just Rite Stamps!!! I've been seeing soo many gorgeous cards done with these stamps lately and they just look so versatile and fun that I NEED to try them :0) So why not try to get them for free!

I made the little center pumpkin by folding punched scalloped circles in half and gluing them together to give the 3-D effect. The little stem and leaf was ripped off some of my fake fall foliage I had laying around :0). The chipboard circle actually started out as black and white. I used a sponge and Ranger distress ink to turn it brown and better coordinate with the gorgeous Coffey background papers.

I decided to tie this card in with the Moxie Fab Challenge by adding a ruffled ribbon border above and below the center panel. I used a wire ribbon and just slid the ribbon on one side to create the ruffles. The ribbon is a nice copper brown and really shimmers IRL. Finally I added some 1/2 pearls in a nice coppery brown color to tie the panel and sentiment together.

I couldn't decide which picture I liked better so I posted both. I asked my oldest and he wasn't much help :0) I like the background in the first one, but I think elements of the card stand out better in the second one. Which do you prefer?

Well
, hope the rest of your weekend is Just Right !!

Makeup for the Weekend - It's Finally Friday

Paper Makeup Stamps has switched things around this month and has now moved their Monday Challenges to Friday. Their new challenge will be called - "Makeup for the Weekend" . So since today is Friday - LET"S GET STARTED!!

Todays challenge is to create an ATC card (Artist Trading Card) . The typical size of an ATC is 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. These are usually pretty easy to make and can either be used by themselves or as focal points on a larger card. You would think with the smaller space to work with they would be easier to create . . . I always have a hard time with simple . . .

I have always wanted to do a centerpiece of spooky black branches with little Halloween ornaments hanging off of them so when I saw how cute these ATC's were going to be I decided to add a little wire and tag to turn them into little ornaments! These things are soo stinkin' cute IRL they make me squeal :0) I was soo tickled when I realized how perfectly a few of the Monster Sayings sentiments coordinated with these images!! PMS rocks! The glittery chipboard letters from K & Company worked perfectly for this project and helped tie all 3 ATC's together.

We'd love for you to play along - you don't need to use PMS stamps. Just link up your creation Via Mr. Linky on the PMS BLOG

It's been a busy week and I'm excited for the weekend to be here. We don't have too many plans, but sometimes that's a good thing. Especially when the weather is crappy! There's nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with a blanket, and either a good book, a good movie or my DH!! I love lazy weekends :0)

Hope your weekend is comfy and cozy!!

Rainy Day "Sketch" Girl

It's the 15th of the month, that means it's time for another Sketch Girl challenge! I also took the opportunity to incorporate another challenge into this card - the Just Us Girls Challenge or JUGS for short :0). The JUGS challenge was to incorporate paper piecing into your card and as an option, use the color pink in coordination with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month. So, here is a close up of the paper pieced rain coat and umbrella . . .

I love how the patterned paper I used (DCWV Mi Casa) for the umbrella ends up looking like raindrops! The raincoat pp was a little tablet of mat stack adhesive paper. The adhesive backed pp made it a snap to just cut it out, peel off the backing and glue it down. And here's the full card showing my interpretation of the awesome sketch Annie B came up with . . .

This little girl (well I'm assuming it's a girl :0) is one of my favorite images by Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper. I love pairing her with this awesome sentiment by Paper Makeup Stamps. I tried to keep the card pretty simple and I followed the sketch pretty closely. I popped up the umbrella on dimensionals to give it some height. And I sponged around the edges of the circle (while it was still in the Nestie) to emphasize the girl more. The gloves, buttons and umbrella handle were colored right on the pp with Copics.

Sorry the picture isn't up to par (ETA: I updated the post with another picture I took in the daylight). My DH was away with the computer and I didn't have a chance to use any photo editing software. I really need to get a light box figured out. Can you tell me what light source you use? I've tried a 100W daylight bulb, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Maybe I'm just setting it up wrong. I've heard about the Ott lights, but I'm looking for something a little less pricey if I can help it :0)

Whether the weather is sunny or rainy, hope your day is great!!

Things That Make Me Happy!

First of all, I was so excited to wake up this morning and learn that I was the first winner of this awesome new challenge!

Thanks sooo much Courtney, Kelley, Kelly Marie, Ann, Lynette, and Winter for choosing my card. This challenge is so fun and fabulous and really gets you thinking outside the box!! I can't wait for the next challenge!!

This is our new car. We ordered it waaaay back in August and we just received it this past week. This makes me very happy too :0) It's the new Ford Flex and it is perfect for our family! It seats seven very comfortably and has all the bells and whistles that we've never experienced on any of our other cars. My favorite - the seat warmers :0) DH's favorite - satellite radio. Boys favorite - it's a toss up between the auomatic flip up seat to get into the third row and the feature that lets the car dial through your cell phone for you!

I thought it was very "ugly" when we first looked at them, but once you get inside, the exterior becomes more appealing! It's got Flex Appeal !! :0) We think it looks like a Mini Cooper on steroids, and we love it. As the boys would say . . .it's "beastamonius"!!

Just thought I'd share a few of things that made me smile already today!! Hope your day is full of smiles!

Courage Bear Release Party and Stamp Something Challenges

Isn't this sentiment awesome?! It's one of those sayings that gives me the shivers. It reminds me of our service men and women, those persons going through hard times put somehow pushing through, and even the little kid so scared to do something for the first time. It's that inner strength that says "there is no other option" . . .

This card was created with two challenges in mind. First of all, the 2nd release party challenge from PMS - play along and link up your card to SCS using keyword pmsrp17;
  • Use a large sentiment or quote - check
  • Use 3 or more layers - check
  • Use fall colors - sort of (modern fall colors maybe)
  • Add distressing - Gotta love Ranger distressing inks!
  • Add brads, eylets or something similar - Stick on 1/2 Pearls are the best!

The second challenge was the Stamp Something Challenge to use the color brown -somehow, someway. I used lots of coppery brown colors in this card so I thought I would link it up. This week's prize winner will receive a 12 marker set from icopics! How cool is that?

Today also marks 11 weeks before Christmas, do you know what that means? It means that Paper Makeup Stamps is offering another week long special - and it's a great one!! Place any order and get a small sentiment for free!! Better yet, for every $10 you spend, you can choose one free sentiment stamp!! Checkout the PMS Blog for all of the details. This special will last for one week only, so don't be a lazy - next Saturday a new special will be posted.

I'm off to run my weekend errands! Mail some packages, pick up some Marketday, Trip to Walmart, yada, yada, yada . . . maybe I'll take the long way past the local craft store ;0) Have great weekend!

Case of Dreck

Paper Makeup Stamps had their October release on Wednesday night and all though I had some computer issues, I think there was a lot of chit-chatting fun going on!! Some really great prizes were awarded, and a couple of fun challenges were issued too!

Being the Newbie to the group, the gals at PMS decided to haze, I mean initiate me into the group by making me the subject of the 1st challenge!! Hee hee, I was actually very humbled and honored.

So, the first challenge was to CASE a card from my blog or SCS gallery and change at least two things. I actually think that's kind of funny considering sooo many of my cards are CASE'd as well :0)

So, since I always love a good challenge , I'm playing along too! Here's the card I chose to CASE. And here's my "re-creation" of it:

I actually stamped this image at the same time as the other one. It has just been sitting around in my pencil box waiting to be useful! I changed the colors, added some sponging and used a different shaped Nestie this time around. I used the same sentiment as the first card (I think it goes so well with this image) but made it more of a focal point with the tag and ribbon.

So you want to play along? Just upload a card to SCS using Keyword PMSRP16. There's sure to be a fabulous prize up for grabs!

On another note, my friend Tiffany told me about the Picasa 3 free download. It's a great simple photo editing software for the novice like me that doesn't have Photoshop! This is my first card using it. What do you think? I was able to create one of those cool watermark signatures like I've seen sooo many others do. Easy as Peasy pie!!

Thanks for stopping by seems like
I was rather chit-chatty today! I must be making up for the fun I missed on Wed. night :0) Thanks for stopping by - have super fabulous weekend - the weathers supposed to be crappy here and the Bears have a bye week. Time to get crafty!!
