August Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop

Happy August!! Hard to believe the summer is coming to a close. School starts next week and soon we'll be back to our daily routine (I think I'm secretly looking forward to it :)

It's a non-release month at Paper Makeup Stamps but that doesn't mean we don't have some fun stuff to show you!! Actually it's one of my more favorite hops because we get to play with some oldie but goodies - and in my case some images that I LOVE but haven't played with before. If your coming from Michelle's blog then your in the right place! If not, then start back at PMS for all of the hop details.

This card uses images from the Home Matters set. The car is only available with the Digi Set version and I have been dying to play with it for a LONG time. So cute and so simple. I printed out tons of little cars so you may be seeing more of him in the future (wink)! The green part of the car is actually printed on colored PP and paper pieced. The tires, bumper and windshield were colored in with Copics, and I used half pearls for the headlights - what a cute and fun dimension they add!

Thanks for taking my little trip down PMS road!! There are still some more awesome creations to stop at so get going on your way to one of our newest design team members whose inside of her cards are just as beautiful as the out!! Shana Dahl

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

Christmas in July

Paper Makeup Stamps is sponsoring this weeks challenge at the Christmas Card Challenge Blog.

I created this card using one of the frames released this month in the Framed set. The wordart is also a Paper Makeup Stamps image. The snowflake is actually a plastic ornament I picked up at the Big "W" after Christmas and the sheet music paper is from an old OLD sheet music book I picked up at an antique store for very little. The paper was already frayed and had a nice aged color. Not much antiquing required!!

I'm linking this card up to te challenge and you should play along too. A $15 gift certificate tot he PMS store is up for grabs. Time to get an early start on those cards!

PMS Sneak Peeks Continue!

What a wonderful long weekend with friends and family!! The weather was a little warm but that's to be expected for July :) !!

Today I get to show you another peek-a-boo at a new release image that will be available on July 7th. This is Madelyn in silhouette form!!

I combined her image with some of the flower stems from the Friendly Flowers set. I left it blank to leave options open. I'm thinking sympathy, birth, christening or encouragment. I think I might go back and add some grass or ground along the bottom, she kind of looks like she is floating! Oh well . . .

Check out what other PMS fairies are going to be released this month by hopping over to the PMS blog. You can check out all of the sneaks going on today. And don't forget to stop by on Thursday for the release day hop and party. We're brining back the release challenges so it would be great for you to play along!!

Back to work, but hey! It's a short week!!!

Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peek

Sneak Peek time!! What better way to start the beginning of the month . . . a holiday weekend AND Paper Makeup Stamps sneak peeks to the new release!!

The large star and swirlie are older PMS images but I selected them to coordinate with my sentiment which is new. The fun thing is that it is a build a sentiment set with endless possibilities . . . in the awesome PMS font that will coordinate with so many of the other PMS sentiments already available!!

I kept this card generic enough to use for birthday, graduation (tons of those right now), encouragement or congratulations.

PMS will be sneaking other peeks this week up until the release date on the 7th when we'll have our monthly blog hop and release party.

Make sure to join us for the fun! Have a Happy Fourth of July!!!!

PMS Summer Hop

Well it's definitely summer here! In fact, I'm not sure if we even had a Spring!!

Paper Makeup Stamps is celebrating the beginning of June with a summery themed blog hop to get us in the spirit. You should have come from Dawn B's blog, but if not go back to the PMS blog and start there!

For my card I used the summery fruit slice from the Freckled Lemonade set. I colored the image 4 different ways to create my lime, lemon, orange, and pink grapefruit. I sprinkled them with glitter to give them some sparkly mouth watering sweetness! The coordinating sentiment is also from PMS.

Here's the line up if you get lost. You can click the DT members name on my sidebar, but for your next stop on the hop head on over to Lisa K's to see her sip of summer :0)

PMS is Getting Fab N Funky

Paper Makeup Stamps is hosting this weeks Fab N Funky Challenge! I was a little "shy to try" at first - can you believe it!

The challenge is to create your own handmade flower and use it on your creation - fun! I tried to keep it really simple and came up with this;

These flowers were made by punching out a large circle and then spiral cutting it towards the center. I then crumpled it all up and tried to fray the edges to distress it a little. Finally, using a few glue dots, secured the flower to my card.

The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps and fits perfectly with my pretty little flowers. They definitely make me smile :0)

Check out Fab N Funky Challenges and play along. There is a PMS prize up for grabs!

Happy Hump Day!

PMS May Release Review

Look how wonderfully the PMS images coordinate! The presents are a new release image but don't they look great with Dreck?!? I think he has a favorite one picked out :0

I used 3 separate PMS images on this card; the monster, the presents and the sentiment. All released at different times, but look like they were made for each other!

Head on over to the PMS blog to see other May release reviews and stop by the PMS store to see all of the PMS images, both old and new.

This card uses the coordinating stamp for Lars, but as you can see it does just fine on its own too! I actually tried to make the card look like a present with a tag attached. Did I succeed?

Paper Makeup Stamps is about to release some new (and not so new) images.

Wedded Bliss

Where did Spring go?!?!?! I woke up this morning to find 2inches of friggin snow on the ground!! Not a good way to start a Monday :0( But I have Spring on my mind and Spring in my heart. AND . . . over at the Cardmakin Mamas blog they are hosting a challenge to make a Spring card. PMS is sponsoring this challenge and the winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to the PMS store!!

Isn't this a cutie?! I decided to make a Springy wedding card with these two little love birds from the PMS Tweet Things set. I love the little heart shaped wings and leaves on the branches. I figure this could easily be a wedding, anniversary, or Valentine card - LOVE the versatility. The flowers on the background are from the PMS Springtime Solids set - love it!! and the wording is from and oldie but goodie - Fench Script from SU!

Play along with the challenge and then head on over to PMS and see what you could be shopping for! There is a huge inventory reduction sale going on right now so you might be able to stretch that gift certificate even a little further!!

Happy Monday!!

Paper Makeup Stamps Springtime Blog Hop

Happy Spring!!

The flowers are bloming, the birds are singing, and PMS is hopping!!
We're showing off some of our springy things as we anticipate next months release.

I have something a little crafty to show you that I made awhile ago for a friend but never posted :0) This was a blank wooden birdhouse that I decorated "PMS Style"!!

I painted the birdhouse black and then for a shine painted modgepodge over that. I stamped PMS images and sentiment on some sheet music patterned paper, distressed it with Ranger ink and then pasted it onto the birdhouse. I removed the little wooden peg perch and added a small black iron drawer knob for a little flair, and a coordinating metal embellishment at the top for a little pizzaz. Finally, I screwed in a little hanger at the top and adde some pretty ribbon and twine for hanging :0)

If you've been hopping then you know that PMS is having a huge sale right now, so be sure to hop hop hop and shop shop shop!! One lucky commenter on the blog will win the entire May release!! And ooh is it a good one!!

Happy hoping on your way to Jami's blog

Proud Mom

I just wanted to share some bags I made for three boys from our middle school that made it to the State Wrestling Championships - one of them being my son!!

It was a little bit of a trip so I made them all a goody bag of healthful treats to take with them on their journey.

I stamped inspirational quotes from Paper Makeup Stamps on each side of the a bag and made a tag with their name on one side and another inspirational quote on the other.

I am so very proud of my son for going as far as he did. He showed courage, determination and heart. Regardless of the outcome it was an accomplishment just to make it to state and in the end they were all winners!

I Dream of Spring

I'm dreaming of warm spring sunshine and bright flowers! I'm actually looking forward to turning the clocks forward because that means one step closer to long sun shiny days!

Paper Makeup Stamps just released a wonderful springy set. Have you seen it? It's called Springtime Solids and come with a variety of botanical images and two clouds! I created this card using all stamps in the set except for the clouds.

The background was created by stamping the leafy swirl all over with Versamark ink and then adding clear embossing powder. Love the subtle tone on tone look. The panel was created using all of the stamps in the set in various colors. The sentiment is also a new word art image that was released this month. I love that it is a quote by Walt Disney. What a dreamer he was!! I simply colored in the words with different color SU! markers.

The Paper Makeup Stamps Blog and DT are also reviewing some of the other stamps that were released this month, so be sure to check them out!

PMS March Blog Hop!

It's time for another Paper Makeup Stamps release blog hop! If you didn't start at the beginning, go back to the PMS Blog and start there. If you're well on your way - well then this is a great way to start a Monday don't you think?

I got to play with a brand new Critter Cutie called Sally. All of these different "ewe" puns were going through my head, but I decided to go with a"fleece"pun instead. I created the sentiment on my computer and then printed it out on cardstock.

I created the Earth by cutting out a circle with my Nesties and then free hand drawing a couple of continents out of patterned paper. Although it doesnt look very realistic, I think I got the general idea across!

You've got one more stop on the hop, so take your letter and get moving! Be sure to stop by in the forum tonight at 8 P.M. CT for our release party. Lots of fun games and chit chat!

Your letter from me is N . . . Your next stop on the hop is Lisa McKinney.

Happy Hopping!

Sneak Peek Day 2 - Danny

Who ever thought a boy fairy could be so cute! This is Danny and he is one of the new fairys being released this month. He is chasing one of two dragonflies that come with him. The other is smaller. I decided to keep this card pretty simple. I created the background behind Danny using the new freebie sentiment that comes with EVERY order - "you're invited". Wouldn't this be a cute invitation for a bug birthday party, or backyard campout?!?!

Make sure to head over to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to see what other fairys are being released as well as leave a comment for a chance to win the whole kit and caboodle :0)

Enjoy the weekend!

Sneak Peek Sentiments

It's day one of the Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peek release. I used a new release sentiment on this card. This sentiment was originally available only in the Will to Dream kit but now is available on it's own!

I thought I would create my own ribbon rainbow to coordinate with the sentiment. So, I sat down to create and just kept thinking over and over again ROYGBIV!! I got it pretty close, just missing one :0)

There are lots of other coordinating sentiments as well as images in this release. If you want to check out more of the releases being sneaked today, hop on over to the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog. Leave a comment and be eligible to win the entire release!!

Happy Weekend!

Purse-onally fabulous!

Paper Makeup Stamps is hosting this weeks sketch challenge over at the Cardabilities blog!! It's a pretty fun sketch and the prize to the winner is a $15 gift certificate to the PMS store!!

I decided to ink up these cute little purses from Paper Makeup Stamps. I thought the handles mimicked nicely the scallops shown in the sketch. And the coordinating sentiment just pulls it all together!

Check out the Cardabilities blog and play along!!

Not So Lucky :(

Thought I would show you a card that I submitted to the last call from Papercrafts magazine that didn't get accepted - not so lucky :( I paper pieced Paper Makeup Stamps Hershey monster with some green paper from DCWV Springstack.

A pretty simple card and I thought it turned out pretty cute, but I'm not going to hold a grudge. Maybe I'll just take Hershey's advice and follow suit :0)

Eye Adore You!!

Where has the time gone!! I've been super busy, crafting even, but I can't believe I've let my posting slip. Shame shame shame!! I guess I need to do a little week in review since I missed ALL of last week . . .

First off is this cutie card I made using Dreck from paper Makeup Stamps. Love the punny sentiment that coordinates with him. I coulda shoulda used this for my DH's Valentine. DOH!

Instead, I'm using it as an entry in this weeks challenge at the Woodware USA blog to create a shaped card - perfect!

Next up is a pic of my other valentines. Every year I make a traditional dinner of a heart meatloaf, pink mashed potatoes, and "cupids arrows" (a.k. french style greens beans). We all eat by candelight on heart shaped plates and the boys get to drink red juice out of wine glasses. You can tell by the pic how absolutely thrilled they are!! They're favorite part, dessert of course. I try to make it different every year. This year we had red velvet cheesecake - yum!

Last week we found out that our middle son was selected as our school districts Artist of the Month!! Here he is with his artwork that is on display at our local civic center. He thought it was pretty cool to see his work framed so nicely and on display. So did I, we're very proud of him!

Finally, here is a pic of my V-day present from my DH. No, not the mirror, or the flowers. My DH spent 4 days putting all of the stone up on our fireplace and creating the mantle!! It's been an ugly shade of naked grey durarock for a couple of years now. We bought the stone on sale, used some leftover wood from another project. Total cost about $300.00!!! Absolutely LOVE it!.
Hope you had a LOVE-ly week last week and looking forward to a super cool one this week too :0)
